Capabilities

The Platform's Operational Layers

Lulgaferno is built around a set of discrete, coordinated functions. Each function operates within a defined layer of the system and contributes to the overall goal of making structured information accessible and reviewable. The following sections describe each function in the order in which it typically applies to a piece of information entering the system.

Capability descriptions

Function 01

Record Intake and Initial Parsing

When information enters the Lulgaferno system, it passes through an intake stage where its basic structure is identified. The system reads the format, origin, and type of each record and prepares it for classification. This initial parsing stage does not alter the content of a record — it only reads and tags its structural properties for downstream processing.

Function 02

Taxonomy-Based Classification

Once parsed, each record is assigned to one or more categories within the platform's taxonomy. The classification logic uses a combination of structural cues and content-based signals to determine the most appropriate category. Records that span multiple categories are assigned a primary classification and one or more secondary tags, enabling them to appear in relevant views without duplication.

Function 03

Indexing and Cross-Reference

After classification, records are indexed to enable rapid retrieval. The indexing function creates references between related records based on shared attributes — such as date ranges, record types, or contextual similarities. Users navigating the review interface can follow these cross-references to move between related records without returning to the top-level view each time.

Function 04

Structured Review Interface

The review interface is the primary way users interact with organised information in the platform. It presents records in the order and grouping determined by the classification and indexing functions, and it provides controls for filtering, sorting, and navigating between views. The interface is designed to support methodical review without requiring users to manage the underlying data organisation manually.

Function 05

Annotation and Observation Capture

Users can attach observations or notes to individual records during a review session. These annotations are stored alongside the record and are visible in subsequent review sessions. Annotations are private to the user who created them and are not shared with other system users or surfaced in any automated output.

Function 06

Enquiry Routing and Support Handling

When users submit a request or enquiry through the platform's contact channel, the system routes it to the appropriate support pathway based on the request type selected. The support team reviews each submission and responds through the nominated contact method. Routing is handled within the system; no enquiry is automatically resolved without human review.

Access process

How Access to the Platform Is Arranged

The following steps describe how a new user moves from initial interest to active use of the Lulgaferno review interface.

  1. Submit an Enquiry

Users begin by completing the enquiry form on the contact page. The form asks for a name, email address, request type, and a description of the information access required. The support team uses this information to assess the request and prepare the appropriate access arrangement.

  2. Review and Confirmation

The support team reviews the submission and may request additional information if the enquiry requires clarification. Once the request has been assessed, the user receives confirmation by email with details of the access arrangement and any relevant guidance.

  3. Interface Orientation

New users are provided with reference material explaining the review interface, the classification structure, and the navigation conventions used in the platform. This orientation material is available at any time from within the user account and from the supplementary information pages of this website.

  4. Active Review Access

Once oriented, users can access the organised information relevant to their account and begin using the review, annotation, and navigation features described in the capabilities section above. The support team remains available for questions throughout the access period.
